FÉSTIVAL à PÉLICAN

Classical music in the vineyards

the 27th & 28th of July 2017 at Domaine de Pélican in Gignac

For the second consecutive year, Criquet Projets, the alias of American producer/actor Gates McFadden and the musician/Artistic Director James McFadden-Talbot, organise the unmissable event for classical music lovers in l'Herault.

"Not just another music festival." The two creators of Festival à Pélican propose a different kind of outdoor event in an unexpected location, bring together the natural surroundings and the ancient stone buildings of an ancestral family wine domaine, and fill it all with music.

The two evenings in July will be serenaded by the Orphan Bird Quartet, whose name comes from the legend of a medieval beast with a peacock's neck, an eagle's beak, a swan's feet, and a crane's body.

On the program, each of the evenings shines a different color: Maurice Ravel, Dmitri Shostakovich and Samuel Barber as well as popular traditional dance music.

Culture is shared...

"Buy a ticket for yourself and offer a ticket to someone you don't know," is the idea we have to stick to our philosophy "bring art to people," in other words: facilitate access to culture.

Art within the reach of everyone, in a magical location is what characterises Criquet Projets!

Maurice Ravel’s String Quartet represents beauty, Dmitri Shostakovich’s 8th String Quartet represents destruction, and Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings represents renewal.
